Derek, Having read about your abilities in the past I was intrigued to watch your program on channel 5. I can safely say that I have never witnessed such unbelievable skill, both for your repetoire and your improv. You are a serious contender for greatest jazz pianist in history, please please please continue to develop this genre to its peak.

.. thankyou derek.. im a avid guitar player from buckinghamshire and seeing the documentary about your musical genius gave me a goal in life.. i would love to have a talent as great as your own, to be able to play everything that i hear in my head.. i think your fantastic derek i really do.. i cant imagine what must go through your head when you hear a piece of music.. but i know that it is something very unuiqe and special... thankyou derek.. p.s. i would love to jam with you! haha xxx

Hi Derek - what a thrill and a joy to watch you on TV last night. I almost forgot to breathe, but cheered and cried after hearing you play with Jools Holland at the end of the programme. What inspiration, what genius, what a rollercoaster ride that was !! and Jools was clearly thrilled to be playing with you. You have a God given talent that you relish and wish to share with others - may I say I was truly enthralled by what I saw and heard. I would dearly love to be able to see you playing the piano one day. Hi there, I just would like to say how much I enjoyed watching the programme tonight, an absolute joy and inspiration!! Made my day! I have an 11 yr old autistic son who enjoys music very much and I hope to teach him the piano as I studied this for most of my life. He is too interested in playing, watching and breathing football, maybe one day! I wondered if you will be performing in any concerts in the UK? I will certainly look out for them. I saw the documentary in TV this evening and just sat there amaed at ur talent. Im a Psychiatirc OT and have worked with people with LD, u have proven that you are unique and very capable.
